A HEAVY RAIN ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE WHOLE FIJI GROUP.

Situation: A weak trough of low pressure remains slow moving over Fiji. It is expected to gradually drift north and be located to the
north of Fiji later on Thursday. Meanwhile, a moist southeast to southwest wind flow prevails over Fiji.
Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over Vanua Levu and northern Lau group.
Occasional showers with isolated thunderstorms and heavy falls over Kadavu, the rest of Lau group, Lomaiviti and nearby smaller islands,
the interior and eastern parts of Viti Levu [ Sigatoka through Navua, extending to Suva upto Tailevu North].
Elsewhere, partly cloudy with afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms with heavy falls.
Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying and flood prone areas.
Moderate southeast to southwest winds.
Moderate seas.
Outlook for Thursday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over Vanua Levu and northern Lau group, easing to some
showers later in the day.

For Kadavu:

For Rotuma : A strong wind warning remains in force over waters of
Rotuma and is now in force for the land areas.
Situation: A trough of low pressure with cloud and rain affects
Rotuma. Meanwhile, a moist northwesterly wind flow prevails over the
island.
Over waters: Northwesterly winds 15 to 20 knots, increasing to 20 to
25 knots from later today.
Over land areas: Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds. Strong winds
developing from later tonight.
Moderate to rough seas. Seas becoming rough from later today.
