The Prime Minister Business Award is one of the premier events in terms of recognizing the private sector’s contribution towards the country’s economic development.

This was highlighted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica while launching the Prime Ministers International Awards 2024.

He says that the theme for this year’s awards is “Business Innovation and Sustainability,” which will honour and reward businesses with proven success through results and place a special focus on innovation and sustainability in reshaping their strategies for the future.

Kamikamica adds that a sustainable approach will offer cost-saving opportunities and enhance brand reputation in the consumer market, leading to an increase in customer loyalty beyond the implication of being environmentally friendly.

“Businesses today have to stay on top of their competitors. With an ever-changing business landscape through events such as global pandemics or looming threats of war between powerhouse countries, companies need to adapt and incorporate new ideas, products, and services to meet their consumer demands.”

Kamikamica encourages small and medium businesses and young visionary entrepreneurs that have demonstrated achievements in the Fiji economy to apply for the awards.

Investment Fiji CEO Kamal Chetty says that over the past years, the awards have become a beacon of recognition for businesses that have contributed to Fiji’s economy.

“The judging process will be conducted with the highest levels of transparency and integrity, involving independent judges who will go through each application to ensure fairness and excellence.”

Chetty adds that the main award celebration will be conducted in November, where business contributions will be recognized.
