Cabinet has recently endorsed the execution of a Memorandum of Understanding with National Geographic Society on the Pristine Seas Initiative.
National Geographic Society is spearheading the pristine seas initiative which aims to explore, document, and protect some of the last wild places in the ocean.
The expedition within Fiji’s waters is expected to contribute to marine conservation efforts.

It will also monitor the impacts of climate change on ocean biodiversity.
