Cabinet has endorsed the review of the Mental Health Act 2010.

The Act provides a framework for the prevention, treatment, care, management, rehabilitation and protection of people with mental disorders.

The aim is to revise the law to allow for the delivery of a modern mental health service that respects the patient’s voice and empowers individuals to shape their own care and treatment.
