Fiji's vision for a sustainable future

The United Nations continues to play a pivotal role in encouraging Fiji’s progress towards the 2030 Agenda.

Speaking on behalf of the government during the UN Day celebration Acting Chief of Protocol Rosa Dalituicama says Fiji looks to take bold and transformative steps with the UN to shift the world onto a sustainable and resilient path.

According to the Chief of Protocol, the UN has touched on all aspects through various programs implemented nationally and in the region.

Dalituicama says there is a dire need to accelerate action and political will for effective stewardship of collective resources.

UN Resident Coordinator Dirk Wagener says UN agencies continue to connect Pacific member states including Fiji into multilateral processes.

United Nations Day marks the anniversary of the entry of the 1945 UN Charter. UN Day celebrated every year offers the opportunity to amplify and reaffirm the purposes and principles of the UN Charter that have guided the UN for the past 78 years.
