Fiji Airways has so far planted 79,000 since pledging to tree for every takeoff since 2017.

Executive Manager Kameli Batiweti highlighted this during his presentation at the 5th Multidisciplinary Conference currently underway in Nadi.

Batiweti says this was important as it’s part of the sustainability initiative which they will continue to do.

He stresses how important mangrove trees are especially for our coastal communities.

Batiweti adds that mangroves are also the best sequesters of carbon.
