Court sets mention date for Degei

The man accused of raping and sexually assaulting a Virgin Australia airline cabin crew member last year appeared in the Lautoka High Court this morning.

Ilaisa Tanoa Degei appeared before Justice Sunil Sharma for a hearing.

His bail has been extended.

Degei is alleged to have committed the crime on the 21-year-old near a nightclub in Matintar, Nadi during the early hours of New Year’s Eve.

Justice Sharma has adjourned the matter to May 26th for mention.
