The Fiji National Provident Fund states that the recent partnership with Google highlights the broader benefits it will bring to the country’s digital landscape and its membership.
FNPF Chief Investment Officer Naibuka Saune says as the sole retirement savings fund in Fiji, they are always on the lookout for investment opportunities that contribute not only to national development and economic growth but, more importantly, ensure financial security.
Saune says the partnership with Google is expected to provide significant advantages, especially in the field of communications infrastructure.
“We are committed to achieving the objectives of this partnership, which would unlock innovative data-driven technologies that would be the foundation for a data-driven ecosystem and the driver of economic growth.”
Saune also emphasizes that the potential for growth in the ICT space is “endless” as it empowers businesses, schools, and villages to be more connected and digitally advanced.
The project would also benefit key sectors, including education, healthcare, and tourism.
With the continued expansion of the ICT sector, Fiji is on track to becoming a more digitally connected and economically prosperous nation.
