Team Fiji 7s after receiving their medal

Team Fiji 7s in a stellar performance, retained their title and added another gold to the tally by defeating Samoa 19-5 in the Pacific Games final last night.

Starting strong, Fiji showcased dominance, downing opponents one after another in the initial three minutes.

At halftime, they held a 14-5 lead.

The Fijian team’s hunger for victory became evident as they capitalized on every opportunity.

Suliano Volivoli, Sakiusa Siqila, and Ioane Raturaciri contributed to Fiji’s success with well-executed tries.

Siqila says the team’s faith and bond played a crucial role in their success.

“I just want to give the glory and the honour back to God. I know that with Him, we wouldn’t have achieved the gold medal and without His strength and giving us endurance as a team, we wouldn’t have overcome the game. So the victory is all back to Him. I also want to dedicate this gold medal and victory to my family back at home, mommy, baby Patrick and to all the supporters here in the Solomons, vinaka vakalevu.”
