Tropical Cyclone Lola has intensified into a Category 5 storm and is set to make landfall in Vanuatu at this hour.
The Fiji Meteorological Service says the storm could bring close to 200kph winds and record rainfall, causing widespread flooding in the Pacific nation.
On its current path, TC Lola poses no immediate threat to Fiji, but the Nadi weather office says the country can expect strong winds and heavy rain in some areas.

Vanuatu’s National Disaster Management Office says red alerts have been issued for two provinces as TC Lola approaches the eastern islands and people have been urged to stay in a secure shelter.
