Farmers need to have more understanding about basic financing in order to thrive in what they do.
These are the sentiments of Praveen Narayan, the Managing Director of Green and Gold Kava while deliberating at the Panel of discussion hosted by the Pacific Island Forum yesterday.
Narayan says that there are more than 500 farmers associated with the company and they went through workshops and training for their own benefit because of the high cost of yaqona.
“We are the first company to do kava workshops in villages and more importantly, the focus is on financial literacy because kava is a very high value in terms of money.”
According to Narayan, with financial knowledge, farmers will have a fair understanding on what to do with their money.
